Privacy

Firelit keeps what it needs to run your clubs and nothing else. There are no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and I don't sell or share your data with anyone. Here are the details.

Who's responsible. Firelit is made by an independent developer based in France. That's me, and I'm the data controller for everything on this page.

For anything about your data, write to privacy@firelit.club. I'll answer within a month, usually much sooner.

What Firelit keeps

The app keeps you signed in by storing a session on your phone. It doesn't collect your contacts, location, photos or anything else from your device.

Who can see what

People in your clubs see your name, handle and avatar, how far you've played, your verdicts, and your posts and reactions, but only in rooms they've reached themselves. Hosts also see reports made in their club. Your email address is never shown to anyone.

Why it's used

Mostly to give you the thing you signed up for: your account, your clubs and the rooms in them (that's "performance of a contract" under the GDPR). Logs, blocking and reports are there to keep Firelit safe, which is a legitimate interest. Nothing is used for advertising or profiling, and nothing is used to train AI models.

Where it lives

A few services help run Firelit. They only process your data on my behalf, under data processing agreements.

ServiceWhat forWhere
SupabaseThe database, sign-in, and the emails with your sign-in linkParis, France
CloudflareThis website, invite links, and forwarding emails sent to @firelit.clubWorldwide network
Google (Gmail)The inbox where emails to @firelit.club end upGoogle's data centres
ExpoBuilding the app and hosting the Android test downloadUnited States

Supabase, Cloudflare, Google and Expo are based in the US. Firelit's database is stored in the EU, but when one of them handles data outside it, the transfer is covered by the EU's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

Game covers in the app are loaded straight from Steam's image servers, so Valve sees the IP address of the phone that loads them, the same as when you browse the Steam store. Firelit's Discord server is run by Discord under its own privacy policy.

This website

firelit.club has no cookies, no analytics and no trackers. The fonts are served from this site, not from Google.

How long it's kept

Your account and everything tied to it stay until you delete your account. When you do, your profile, posts, replies, reactions, progress, verdicts, votes and reports are deleted. Clubs you started stay for their other members, without your name on them. Logs and backups that still hold your data are cleared on their normal schedule, within 30 days.

If you email me, I keep the conversation as long as I need it to help you, then delete it.

Your rights

You can ask to see the data Firelit has about you, get a copy you can take elsewhere, correct it, delete it, or object to or limit how it's used. Just email privacy@firelit.club from the address you sign in with. To delete your account, see Delete your account.

If you think I've got something wrong, please tell me first. You can also complain to the CNIL, the French data protection authority, at cnil.fr, or to the authority where you live.

Age

Firelit isn't meant for children under 13. If you're under 15 and live in France, please ask a parent before signing up.

Hosting

This website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, I'll say so in the app and on the Discord before it takes effect. The date at the top always shows the latest version.
